MekithoArt is mixed media and found object artist, Maggie Horne Thomas. Maggie works with a wide variety of art mediums ranging from traditional forms of fine art such as oil and acrylic on canvas to mixed media utilizing found objects and reclaimed items.

 

Maggie creates thought-provoking art utilizing anything that is considered unwanted, broken, or discarded by others. She sees new life and potential in absolutely everything, even trash. Transforming old and unwanted trash and junk and found objects into a beautiful sculpture, painting, or necklace is the best way to recycle. It is not only going green and doing something beneficial for this world, it is doing it beautifully.

 

Located in Smyrna, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta, her studio space resembles more of a rummage sale than an artist's studio. She has a massive collection of "stuff and junk and crap" as she lovingly refers to it... and it is her prized possession.
